Hello Readers:mrgreen:
In school we are starting an “International Teen Life Project” we are doing this project with 3 other classes from around the globe. I am really excited to be doing this project I think that it is going to be really interesting to learn about teen life in other parts of the world. We were asked to write a blog post introducing ourselves. My name is Toni, and I am a grade 8 student in Mr. Fisher’s 7/8 class. I am an only child my parents names are Ann Marie and Tony; I have two pets A Cat, Louie and a Guinea Pig, Rayleen. I really enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love curling and volleyball, but my most favorite way to pass time is to sing. I love to spend time in my room singing.
Snow Lake is a small community with about 800 people. We have a small school with about 170 students. I love living in Snow Lake, I think it is a great places. I love it in the summer time because there is a lake in the middle of the town so we can go swimming, fishing, boating, water skiing and tubing. I love the outdoors but I don’t enjoy the bugs. Snow Lake is not only great in the summer time; it is great all year around. It makes a great place for Ski-dooing, in the winter. Even though Snow Lake is a small safe community we still have concerns.
A few concerns that we have in Canada are:
Drugs and Alcohol - I think that this is a major issue because many teens and adults in Canada are getting involved with Drugs and Alcohol. Two many people are getting addicted to them and killing them selves or others.
I think Global Warming is another big issue. I think that because many people are not recycling there garbage, and our planet is warming up. That means that in a few years many people will be without a home because many places around the world will be covered in water; unless we start recycling our garbage and taking care of our planet.
I don’t know what to call this issue but I think that just because some peoples skin is a different colour or there a little bit different then us they always get made fun of or put down. I think that this is very wrong, and just because they may look a little different or act different, that doesn’t give anybody the right to make fun of them.
I am extremely excited to be doing this project and I hope I get to find out a lot more about these countries and the way they live.
Until Next Time, Toni

Hi Toni, I’m Arnold. I live in Cartagena, here we also have issues like alcohol, and global warming. I think this is a ver interesting blog. Here in Cartagena we also do a lot of outdoors activities, I like going outdoors. Here water sports are very common like skiing, boating, jet-skiing and more cool things to do.
I think is very interesting Canada, I will like to know more about it and its sports.

Hi, Toni! I’m Paula but I like to be called Pau. I think alcohol and global warming are very important issues. Many teens use alcohol and drugs because their friends pressure them to do so telling them that they’ll be cooler. I think this is very bad and people should learn to say no.
Global warming is also something that worries me a lot. Not only humans can get damaged but animals too can loose their homes. I think some ways of solving this problem are to recycle but also that factories don’t throw their toxic gases in the air because that damages the ozone layer.

Hey Toni,
Love how you have such a big heart for the earth. I am also concerned about all the issue you have pointed out. I am also concerned about pollution and how sooner or latter nothing we do can stop it. By the way I am Ramzi in Mr.Raisdana’s class in Malaysia. Malaysia is a fun pace to visit but some days the heat is so intense I don’t have the energy to go out by lately the weather has cooled down a bit. I love sports mainly basketball and to past my free time I watching T.V. or I bike outside if its not to hot. I love the smell of fresh clean air here after a rain storm it really gives me hope for the world. I have one pet cat named Claudine but we spell it Clawdine. I use to have a turtle and fishes but it didn’t take care of it so my mom sent them away. My cat is probably the closes animal friend and she like a part of our family. I am the youngest in my family but I have two older sisters and two older brothers. They are all working or in college. In total I have seven people in my family including me. Hope to talk to you later and hope you can look at my blog.

Hey Toni! As you can see My name is Sam. I live in Jersey and we have a big problem with alcohol! You hear everyday people are in accidents each day because of alcohol or drugs. Is there anything thing that we could do to prevent this? I Mean I have friends who got hurt in accidents because they were in a car with a driver who drank. I’m just so glad there is someone who cares about this as much as the rest of us do!
