An Inconvenient Truth
Hello Readers
Again long time no post :(. It has been a bust few days for me, I was out of town for a week and now I am trying to catch up on schoolwork that I missed. One of the things that I missed while I was gone, is my class watched the movie An Inconvenient Truth. So when I got back on Monday Mr. Fisher came to me to talk to me about what I have to catch up on and one of the things he gave me for homework was to watch a movie! I sat down to watch this movie and I didn’t know that when the movie was over it would have changed the way I will live my life.
An Inconvenient Truth
This movie is about global warming, how to prevent it and the effects of it. Some of the graphs and pictures that they showed in this movie just blew me away. They showed a picture of water covering many places on earth and ruining many peoples homes, and because of global warming many people in 50 years will not have a home. Global warming is killing Polar bears and they are drowning because there is no ice for them to stand on. The picture they showed of the polar bear was most effective too me, because I have a great love for animals and to see them not being able to climb on ice like that and having to drown, is really sad and that is why I want to put a stop to global warming.
Can We Make A Difference?
Yes we can! Global warming is because of us and there are many ways we can prevent it. Here are a few ways we can help prevent global warming.
- Drivel less
- recycle
- bike
- mass transportation
- turn off lights when not in a room
- turn off appliances when not in use
- short showers
- turn down your heat
- fluorescent lights at home
- plant a tree
If you would like to learn more about this movie and global warming go to www.climatcrisis.net.Watching this film helped me understand global warming more and the effects of it. At the end of the movie when they showed the credits they played a song and then I went and watched the music video for that song. In the music video they took different pictures and graphs from the movie to go with the song. By watching the music video and just sitting and listening to the words of the song and looking at the pictures it really made me want to change the way I live, more then the movie itself did.
I really suggest that you go out and watch this movie it is life changing and I think everyone should see it.

I agree - I think everyone should see it, as well. What’s interesting is how this movie has become such a political football. Friends of mine who are died-in-the-wool Republicans won’t even watch the video, while some Democrats think the global warming issue is critical to the survival of the planet.
What a shame that politics has to enter into this particular debate.
Congratulations on making the changes in your life to do your part in this struggle.
