Social Studies Project, Coming to an end.
Hello Readers
Social Studies Project
I have finished my social studies project and I am happy with the way it turned out. I had a great time doing my project and learnt a lot. My ModelI built my model out of materials that they would have used in Feudal Europe. My roof is thatch. The stuff we used for my roof was picked from a farmers field on the way home from Winnipeg, the mud was taken from my back yard, and the sticks and moss I used were took from the woods behind my house.
When I first started building my model I made a frame out if sticks and filled it in with mud. My floor is made from mud and my roof is thatched.
This is a picture of my model

What I thought of building a Peasants home. When my project started coming to an end I realized that building a home with these materials is not an easy task. I found out that when mud dries it shrinks, and when sticks start to dry out they bend. So when my mud started to shrink and my sticks started to bend some of my frame started to let go and some of the mud let go of the walls. So I realized that building homes in Feudal Europe must have been a hard job. I thought that making this model really helped me understand how they made homes in feudal Europe and what troubles they went trough

What do you think it would have been like to live in a house like that?
