Social Studies Projects
Recently in Social studies we have been doing projects on Feudal Europe. There are a lot of different and interesting topics that students are working on and I can’t wait to see them when they are complete. I choose to do my project on a peasants home.
A Peasants Home
My social studies project is on a Peasants home. I am making a model and a write up about my model and the homes in Feudal Europe. Peasants were the poorer people in Feudal Europe so there homes weren’t as Elaborate as the richer peoples homes. Their roofs were thatched,
and windows when they were present were small openings in the walls, with wooden shutters. There homes were very cozy with one or two rooms. One room was for cooking and sometimes sleeping and the other was for storage and/or sleeping. Most homes were placed in villages. There were rows of houses on either side of a river.
Social Studies
At the beginning of theses projects Mr. Fisher started a wiki that people could go to and leave ideas for projects and links to sites that will give us information. We also recently started putting stuff on the wiki that last year’s grade 7/8 class has started. I think the wiki’s are an interesting way of doing things because we can access it from home , and it gives us a chance to put up the information we know about certain topics.
