What is Photography?

Photography to me is capturing a memory, making time freeze for you and those around you to remember for many years to come.

What is photography to you?

Some may not like photography and others may love it. There are many different ways of using photography. Each of us who enjoy photography use it differently. I normally don’t take a pictures of anything useful to anyone but myself and sometimes friends and family, it usually is of, my friends and I out for walks in the night time, hanging out, playing games, or just sitting around. Then there are those people who make money from photography capturing beautiful images that people want to hang in there homes. I think that whatever way that you use photography is wonderful, if your just snapping pictures of you and your friends sitting on your bed or a beautiful nature seen that will soon be hung in a museum. Although there can also be bad photography.

What is good photography and what is bad?

Like I mentioned, there are many ways of using photography but there can also be bad pictures and good pictures. A good picture to me is something that is focused on one thing.The colour, shapes, and lines. Make a big difference on the mood you set in your picture. If you are trying to capture the mood of happiness and excitement, taking a picture in black and white of someone sitting alone on a bench doesn’t capture that. If you take it on a sunny day in the park with five kids laughing and playing in the sand you will capture that image. So the object and colour in your picture take a big part in making it a good or a bad picture.

    I like your ideas about photography. You make a number of good points, I think. I especially like the idea of a good picture being focused on one thing. I guess that is the difference between the snapshots that most of us take at family gatherings or at school and the photographs of someone like Ansel Adams.

    By the way, I think both the photographs you posted here are quite good!

    Hey, I think the one with the lightning is a good one because people don’t see that everyday. The one of the trail is good for some people in like Texas because they don’t get snow there but the trail one to me is bad becasue we see it like everyday in the winter time.
