Copyright
This week in school we have been learning about copyright, and why it is so important for us to no while we are podcasting and vlogging.
Copyright is the law that states if we create something, whether it be a picture,a piece of music, software or a process you own it and get to decide who uses it and how they use it. If Someone else wants to use it they need your permission and have to pay. Copyright could be a very good thing in some ways and in other ways it could be a bad thing. For example because we have copyright we have to pay our music, pictures ect. But also Because we have copyright bands make more money and they get credit for the things that they produce and someone else can’t go and take credit for it when they didn’t create it.
Althought if we wanted to use a song in our podcast or vlog that was by a famous artist we could but we would only be able to play 20 sec or so of that song and then we would have to talk about it saying who it was by the name of it any if there was any other back ground information on that song we would have to talk about it as well and that is called creative commons. We are Able to use creative commons in our podcast or vlogs.

You are really lucky that you are learning about copyrights now. There are thousands and thousands of adults who don’t know as much about them as you do. And I am really happy you are learning about Creative Commons because it is very cool.
